Then you want to choose lures that are the max weight or very close to the max weight for the rod. The line you choose to put on it should be less than 12lbs, you want the line to break before anything else. Max drag on the reel you choose for that rod should be near 12 lbs Say you pick a rod that has a 3 to 12lb capacity. You want to have your gear setup weights the same (or very close to the same) rod, reel drag, line test, and lure weight. The weight and gear setup stuff in this game is extremely similar to real life fishing. The most important thing you need to pay mind to is your gear setups, that's what, where, and why weight matters. The 21 and 25g Jigs and Bass jigs would work with the example pole I mentioned above, the 14g (half ounce) ones are pretty sweet too, but would require a lighter rod/reel setup to be optimal. So I usually wind up with #3/0 Crankbaits (1 or 2M is fine), and then with bass jigs and jig 's like the 14/21/25g range, since those are all also #3/0 and #4/0 hooks. In the case of Florida, that would usually (at least for me) be a #3/0 or #4/0 Hook size. So if for example I'm using a pole that can tolerate a Lure range of 18-56g, 37 is the actual middle of that range, so I'll look for +/- a few grams off of that exact number, but then I'll need the hook size to match as well. In Florida specifically, but I guess anywhere more generally, I'm usually shooting for the middle allowable range that the rod/reel combo will handle. Or what Bass Jigs/Jig Head sizes and weights would you use in Everglades? I guess the main question is: What are ESSENTIAL weights on bass jigs and jig heads, you would want to bring on a fishing trip? (To have efficient use of storage) I ended up buying all sorts of bass jigs and other lures, with an assortment of weights, and am running out of space.
